KOMOREBI

A conceptual re-branding of the HAKONE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM in Japan; a 70,000m2 garden containing modern and contemporary sculptures.

I envisaged this refreshed identity, consisting of a new name (a Japanese term to describe sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees) and colour palette reflecting how the appearance of the sculpture garden shifts with the seasons.

The new dynamic logo - based on the Japanese character for ‘tree’ to form a ‘K’ - completes a bold, contemporary take on the museum’s setting within nature.
